Step 1. Multiply shred carton width x length x height. Call this "X". (cubic inches of shreds in shred carton) Step 2. Multiply your container width x length x height Call this "Y". (cubic inches in container you are filling) Step 3. Divide "Y" into "X" and call it "Z". Multiply "Z" times 4 ("fluff factor"). Call this "Z-4". (number of containers you can fill loosely with shreds) Step 4. Estimate fraction of space your product will fill in your container. Subtract this from 1. Call the result "LTF". (Left To Fill...around your product) Step 5. Divide "LTF" into "Z-4", and call it "A-HA!"
